The journey will include a stop on York Island and, perhaps, famous Raspberry Island, as the time and winds allow. This night, You’ll camp on the sand spit of Oak Island. On your final day, you will paddle another 4 hours back to your starting point at Little Sand Bay.












LeaAnn Schroeter is a seasoned pediatrician, traveler, and mother of 4 daughters. She is a pastor’s wife, and has spent most of her adult life mentoring believers, especially young teens. She has a passion for God, a passion for preserving His creation, and a passion for people.
Sydney Mabie is a paramedic. To pull her away from her “day job” is a great blessing. She brings a world of spiritual depth to any conversation and see’s God at work in the details of life. She is a Sr. High girl’s youth group leader, hostess extraordinaire, and the mother of four sons!
Your group will meet at Little Sand Bay, north of Bayfield, WI. Your Whitecap Kayak guides will give you confidence, as they instruct you (yes, even beginners!) on paddling & principles of wilderness camping After packing your kayaks, you’ll paddle about 2 hours to our favorite group site on Sand Island. While on the island, you’ll paddle to & through sea caves, visit an historic lighthouse , hike, swim, gather berries, and relax on the beach, gather firewood, fellowship & spend time with each other & the Lord! You’ll enjoy Sand Island for 2 nights. On the 3rd day, you’ll paddle about 4 hours to Oak Island. Cost is $375 for the trip.
You just bring your own clothes, sleeping bag & personal items. You can choose to paddle your own solo kayak, or team up with a partner in a tandem.
